The Expertise Market Map
Find the part of your experience that solves a problem somebody genuinely cares about — without turning yourself into a hustle machine.
The PRICE test
The market does not pay for everything you know. It pays for a result that matters. PRICE helps you identify that result and the judgment that makes it reliable.
P
Problem
What costly, frustrating, risky, or important problem do you understand unusually well?
R
Result
What becomes better because your judgment is involved — and for whom?
I
Invisible context
What patterns, exceptions, trade-offs, and warning signs do you see that a capable newcomer misses?
C
Container
Should this become advice, a productised service, a knowledge asset, a tool or system, or an audience?
E
Experiment
What is the smallest honest test that would show whether another person values the result?
Your turn
Map one piece of your experience
One honest row is enough to begin.
The problem
Describe one recurring problem in plain language. What does it cost in time, money, risk, confidence, or missed opportunity?
The person
Who feels this problem strongly enough to act? Be more specific than an industry or age group.
The result
What changes after the problem is solved? Write an observable before-and-after statement.
Your evidence
Where have you produced this result before? List examples, decisions, artefacts, outcomes, or people who can verify it.
Invisible context
List the warning signs, exceptions, standards, and trade-offs that became automatic through experience.
The container
Choose one first form: advice, productised service, knowledge asset, tool/system, or audience.
The experiment
Name one person to speak with, one small version to make, and one piece of evidence that would count as genuine interest.
A useful boundary
Do not begin by inventing a product. Begin with a person, a problem, and evidence that your judgment changes the result. The container comes after those are clear.
